Jessica practises Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She moved from the UK to China in 1954, aged six, when her father, a British doctor, took a role working in Beijing. All her education took place in China, and in Chinese, until she returned to England at 21. She is bilingual in Chinese and English.
After her nursing training at the Royal London Hospital, she went back to China in 1975 and completed an acupuncture apprenticeship course in Beijing.
In 1983 she set up the Poplar Acupuncture Centre, which later evolved into Pathways Trust, where she has worked ever since.
From 1994 to1997 Jessica worked on an innovative project offering complementary medicine in the outpatients department at Lewisham Hospital, London. Under the NHS initiative, run by the South East London Health Trust, patients were referred for acupuncture treatment by hospital consultants and their local GP.
Jessica completed a course in Chinese herbal medicine in London in 1990. She has also extensively studied nutrition since the late 1990s and it plays a major role in her treatments. Her advice to patients takes into account all aspects of patient’s life and it based on over 40 years of experience of working with patients.
Aside from treating patients in Tower Hamlets and running Pathways Trust, Jessica has also done clinical supervision for the various colleges of Acupuncture in the UK for several years.
Jessica is a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
